If you’ve won a prize in the Nagaland State Lottery (commonly known as Dear Lottery or Lottery Sambad), you must claim your prize within 30 days from the draw date. For winnings up to Rs. 10,000, you can collect your prize directly from any authorized lottery retailer by presenting the original winning ticket and a valid photo ID.
For prizes exceeding Rs.10,000, you are required to submit a formal claim to the Director of Nagaland State Lotteries, located in Kohima, Nagaland. The claim process involves filling out the official Prize Claim Form along with a self-declaration. You will also need to provide:
- The original winning ticket (in good condition, untampered)
- A photocopy of the ticket, attested by a Gazetted Officer or Notary
- Four passport-size photographs
- Valid ID proof (such as Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, etc.)
- A court affidavit signed by a Notary or Magistrate, especially for high-value claims
- Your bank account details, including IFSC code and PAN number
Once the form and documents are verified, your prize money will be transferred via RTGS, cheque, or demand draft. If you’re claiming from outside Nagaland, additional time may be required for verification and disbursement, and there may be deductions such as TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and postal charges.
It is important to note that damaged, torn, or tampered tickets are not eligible for prize claims. The lottery department reserves the right to reject such entries. Although the official claim period is 30 days, under exceptional circumstances and at the discretion of the Director, late claims may be accepted up to 90 to 120 days from the draw date.
Always ensure that your ticket is preserved in good condition and that all required documents are submitted accurately to avoid delays or rejections. This official process ensures transparency and fairness in awarding winnings to genuine ticket holders.
